Professional Dog Training & Advice is a family business, but it offers much more than just training dogs; it is a whole ethos. Lee trained closely under the renowned Ian Griffiths, one of the UK’s most respected dog trainers, whose extensive work with gundogs, security and police dogs shaped a generation of top professionals. As Ian’s right-hand man for many years, Lee played a key role in high-standard police-style and gundog demonstrations, forming not only a strong professional bond but a family-like connection. That foundation in practical, real-world training became the cornerstone of Lee’s own methods — blending traditional skill with a deep understanding of modern family life and each dog’s unique personality.

About Kian Lunt

Kian plays an important role within the family business, bringing both passion and experience far beyond his years.

Growing up around dogs and training, Kian has spent almost a decade learning, studying, and working hands-on with dogs of all breeds and temperaments — from family pets to police and dogs with behavioural issues.

Currently studying for a degree in Psychology, Kian combines his academic knowledge of behaviour and learning with his extensive practical experience. This gives him a unique perspective on the connection between human and canine behaviour — an understanding that strengthens every aspect of the training we offer.

Kian also trained closely under the renowned professional dog training, Ian Griffiths, working as part of his professional dog demonstration team at major shows across the UK, handling and decoying dogs in front of large crowds. That experience not only built confidence and precision, but also gave Kian a foundation of real-world skill that can’t be taught in a classroom.

Outside of dog training, Kian shares another passion with his dad — martial arts. Both have trained under Ian Griffiths Shihan, achieving their black belts together in his private dojo. This discipline and respect carry through into every part of Kian’s work, reflecting the same calm focus and determination he brings to training dogs and supporting their owners.

Humble, polite, and deeply committed, Kian is driven by a genuine love for dogs and a desire to help people build stronger, happier relationships with them. As part of our family-run business, he brings not only his skill and professionalism, but also the warmth and connection that make every client feel part of the extended family.

Lee has another claim to fame! His dog Ted (sadly no longer with us) had a part in a feature film, "1 in 200" about homelessness. Ted played the part of a companion dog to Sam, a burnt-out author and award-winning journalist. Sam had battled with injustice all her working life, but has lost her will to fight.

Ted was chosen for this part as he had the right temperament, was extremely obedient, could retrieve objects and chase people on command. Most importantly, Lee had also given him dog bite work training, which Ted had the opportunity to put to the test.

Dog bite work training is used to teach controlled, targeted biting. It is the type of training that is used for police, military and personal protection dogs. Lee has extensive knowledge of this type of training, which is highly specialised and relies on the dog being very disciplined. The dog must only bite the area it is commanded to, usually a bite sleeve or some other form of protective gear.

Here is a photo of Ted in action, doing exactly what he was told!
