There are many things to consider before choosing a dog trainer or dog behaviourist. These are some of the most common questions we are asked.
What is the difference between a dog behaviourist and a dog trainer?
A dog behaviourist focuses on finding the reasons behind a dog's particular behaviour, such as why is the dog aggressive, fearful in certain situations or anxious etc. We use proven techniques to correct the behaviour. A dog trainer teaches obedience commands - like sit, stay, come. Often, both roles can overlap.
How many training sessions will be needed?
This will vary depending on the type of issues the dog has. Before we do any training, we always assess the dog first and then create a specific training plan. More complex issues may take several month. Basic training - obedience commands, walking to heel etc may need just a few sessions.
