Dog Behavioural Assessment

A Dog Assessment is a vital step prior to any dog or puppy training. This helps to identify any specific training requirements and also provides essential information to find the root cause of any behavioural problems. There is always a reason why a dog behaves in a certain way, the key is to find out 'how' and 'why'.

This assessment takes approximately 1 hour.

During the assessment, we will see your dog demonstrating the behaviours that need to be addressed.  We will be able to see  'how' and 'why' they are reacting a certain way, what are the triggers.  This is also an opportunity to see how you communicate with your dog, this will ultimately help us to choose the best training methods to use.  Based on this information, we can then create an appropriate training plan.

It is helpful if you provide with some basic information prior to the assessment:

Assessment Questions

Has your dog had any previous training? If yes, when was it, what type of training and how successful was it?

Rach will make the Assessment questions into a .pdf form that people can fill in and return. Do you want to change it?

Professional Dog Training & Advice can then create a training programme specifically tailored to meet your dog's needs.

Any methods we use to teach your dog (and you!) during lessons must be continued by the owners, consistency during dog training is the key.
